The Department of Electrical Engineering at POSTECH was established to foster top-tier scientists and engineers who would lead Korea’s advancement in the electronics industry.

In response to national strategies for rapid transition to information and advanced technologies, and aligned with POSTECH’s mission of elite, research-oriented education, we strive to deliver outstanding education and research.

Our educational goals emphasize a broad foundation across electrical and electronic engineering and deep expertise in specialized fields. Our curriculum integrates subjects traditionally covered by electronics, control and instrumentation, computer, communication, electromagnetic, and electronic materials engineering.

Key research and education areas include information and communications, signal processing, control and power electronics, semiconductors and quantum electronics, electromagnetics and microwave engineering, computer engineering, and circuits. Building on these strengths, we operate various centers and labs in collaboration with industry and national research programs.
